Persevering Through Trials Creates Joy

James One is founded upon God-centered, purpose-driven principles that drive the decision making of our leadership.  For this reason James One continues to have phenomenal impact on its clients and employees, resulting in ongoing success and extraordinary growth.  The genesis of our company is truly inspiring.  

Robert Harris and Bill Carroll met as baseball teammates in college and became best friends. After college, Robert began building businesses and encountered the usual trials that come with entrepreneurship.  Robert, usually outgoing and exuding a positive outlook, was frustrated and losing joy.  In his search for answers, he was counseled by a mentor to read chapter one of the book of James in the Bible.  He was so inspired by the principles of joy-through-trials presented in this Bible passage, that he made a commitment to live his life for God’s Purposes and not his own.   He began to realize that by persevering through his trials, he would become the Husband, Father and Leader he aspired to be.

Bill Carroll was also inspired by the James one passage as shared with him by Robert.  In the process of building and selling successful businesses, Bill endured similar trials and he, too, made a commitment to live his life for God’s Purposes. 

Though following different paths, Bill and Robert came to the same realization:  The verse from James one had the same impact on their lives.  The timing was finally right to make their earlier ideas of a partnership come true.  They agreed that together they would create a company called James One, based on these principles of joy through trials.  James One’s philosophy and mission would become ICE:  Impacting Customers and Employees.  Using this approach, their leadership creates an atmosphere that motivates and impacts our employees and customers locally, across the country and around the world.
